Meet Tamala Harris, AQUABLUE’s highly skilled and accomplished Service Delivery Manager.
With over 27 years of experience in telecommunications and customer service, Tamala brings a wealth of experience from a variety of industries. Her diverse background, including roles in brokerage, transportation, and the US Army, has shaped her into a well-rounded leader with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
Her career began in 1994 at Sprint, where she served as a Customer Service Representative. She then spent 18 years with MCI/Verizon, where she developed expertise in all aspects of the business, from customer care to Global Sales and Service Delivery. Just prior to joining AQUABLUE, she spent seven years with Lumen Technologies as a Service Delivery/Project Management Professional.
Tamala was drawn to AQUABLUE by the company’s unique approach to customer care.
“When you are a customer at one of these big communication companies, you’re a number,” explained Tamala. “Customers would like to feel like they’re your only customer, and that’s something that AQUABLUE does.”
Tamala draws inspiration from AQUABLUE’s supportive environment and unparalleled commitment to client relationships. In an industry increasingly shaped by digital transformation, she remains a steadfast advocate for human connection.
As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we commend Tamala for her achievements and her relentless commitment to excellence—going above and beyond her job title. Her enthusiasm for building genuine connections and her appreciation for AQUABLUE’s people-first approach perfectly embodies the company’s mission to provide exceptional service through personal relationships and technical expertise.
For women starting their careers in telecommunications, Tamala offers valuable advice:
- Network extensively: “You need to get out and meet people. I don’t care if you go to conferences or vendor meets—just get to know your customers, get to know the carriers, your vendors, and also your coworkers.”
- Continuously build your skill set: “Make sure that you’re constantly learning about the new trends in the industry. Get a couple of certifications. Do whatever you can to help meet your career goals.”
- Stay resilient: “In this industry, there’s a lot of pressure. It can be very rewarding, but there’s going to be some days where it’s rough, and you have to stay strong.”
Reflecting on her experience at AQUABLUE, Tamala shared, “I haven’t been this happy in years. When your company appreciates you, it makes you want to work harder for them.”
We are honored to have Tamala as a valued member of the AQUABLUE family.
