Meet JD (Jason Denrich), AQUABLUE’s dynamic Business Operations Manager and rising star who brings fresh energy and innovative thinking to our growing team.
With a finance and business administration background from Ohio State University and a passion for environmental science, JD transitioned into telecommunications from the enterprise technology world. Prior to joining AQUABLUE, he worked at Oracle as a Business Development Consultant working with on-premises database/hardware teams and cloud technology solutions.
At AQUABLUE, JD spent nine months on the Quote Desk before discovering his fit in Business Operations, where he could apply his technical skills to streamline systems and optimize processes.
His proudest accomplishment came during his first major project—managing 220 circuit renewals with just three and a half weeks to complete opportunities, data entry, orders, and billing. “I created a scalable process that we can use for any account… a system that will allow us to scale and increase our margins and revenues,” JD shared.
What sets JD apart are the positive energy and soft skills he brings, with a focus on the importance of employee well-being. JD believes that “it’s hard to do your job well if you’re not happy about what you’re doing. Having that fresh energy when coming into AQUABLUE made a huge difference.”
JD was drawn to AQUABLUE specifically because it offered the opposite of a traditional corporate life—a chance to be more than “a small fish in a big pond.” Looking ahead, JD is energized by AQUABLUE’s growth potential. “Right now there are about 35 employees in the company, but the difference between 35 and 200 is short and quick. Preparing for that and finding new ways to manage that growth—that’s really what I’m excited for.”
For professionals considering a career transition into telecommunications, JD emphasizes the importance of understanding all sides of the business: “It’s really hard to be exceptional in a role within telecom without understanding the complete process flow.”
When asked for his go-to productivity tip, he laughed. “Give me a double espresso shot and headphones, and I can conquer the world.”
